I survived my first week here! Here is a breakdown of what I have learned/experienced
my first week in Rome:
1. Work –
The work I will be doing here will be completely different than what I did in
Seattle. I have a tremendous amount to
learn. I don’t start work until 9:00a
or 9:30a. This is a wonderful thing for
me since I am not a morning person. From
the hotel it takes me about 20 minutes to get to work in the mornings (that is
riding the bus). Not too shabby at
all!!
2. The hotel I am in is really nice. On a peaceful "side street." They serve breakfast. I am glad I like it since it will be sometime before my apartment is ready.
They have a gym here but I have yet to use it – have been exploring too
much. Anything I have asked for they
have provided – an extra blanket and a microwave ( the room didn’t have one). Oh wait – one thing I had to buy on my
own - Kleenex of all things. Note to
self: Most Italian hotels don’t have Kleenex
in the room, only toilet paper.
3.
Coffee here in Rome is definitely not Starbucks! That
is one thing I will have to get used to.
4. If I don’t continue to exercise I will gain
weight! The food here is AWESOME! I have run three times since I have been
here. Lots of uneven stairs to
climb. And have done a lot of
walking.
5. The drivers here are radically insane!!! I am
NOT looking forward to my first experience.
Esp. if I decide to get a scooter.
I know this is short but hopefully you will enjoy the
pictures I have posted:

Till next time….
Ciao!
Jerrie :-)
